I have been helping people attain their health and fitness goals since 1976.  At 67 years of age, I experience dynamic health and fitness... something I think everyone should enjoy. 

My goal is to educate people in the fundamental concepts of holistic health and motivate them to make significant positive changes in their daily activities.

Optimum Performance Nutrition

In my 40+ years of experience as a personal coach and endurance athlete, it has become obvious to me that optimum nutrition is essential to optimum performance. Whether you are looking to improve your body composition or improve your performance, if you follow my guidelines, I guarantee your success. If you wish to change how you look and feel, you must change how you think about food.

The relationship most of us have with food is defined in terms of its social significance and is viewed as a source of personal pleasure. Effective performance nutrition means you should enjoy eating, but food must first serve a functional role. Based on the scientific fact that energy is neither created nor destroyed, but simply converted from one form to another, proper weight management depends on eating according to your body's energy demands.

I encourage a balanced approach to one's diet, avoiding overly processed foods whenever possible. While promoting clean eating and smarter choices, this plan does not focus just on food like many other systems. It is a total-system approach that includes an education in nutrient timing, behavior modification and exercise guidelines. One look in the mirror should be enough to realize that we are all an accumulation of habits, both good and bad... it really is about making the right choices.

My coaching philosophy is founded on a concept I call the 3-D's: Desire, Discipline, and Dedication. These virtues establish the foundation on which your successes are built. Desire is necessary to achieve any goal and is the key element that will take you to the next level. Discipline is needed to establish new behavior patterns while dedication is critical to staying focused long enough to see the fruition of your work. I will teach you how to establish SMART goals and develop a plan of action that is both simple and demanding, yet balanced. I will motivate you to be your best while enjoying the process.
